A New Approach to the Evaluation of Non Markovian Stochastic Petri Nets

چکیده
In this work, we address the problem of transient and steadystate analysis of a stochastic Petri net which includes non Markovian distributions with a finite support but without any additional constraint. Rather than computing an approximate distribution of the model (as done in previous methods), we develop an exact analysis of an approximate model. The design of this method leads to a uniform handling of the computation of the transient and steady state behaviour of the model. This method is an adaptation of a former one developed by the same authors for general stochastic processes (which was shown to be more robust than alternative techniques). Using Petri nets as the modelling formalism enables us to express the behaviour of the approximate process by tensorial expressions. Such a representation yields significant savings w.r.t. time and space complexity.

Formal approach on modeling and predicting of software system security: Stochastic petri net
To evaluate and predict component-based software security, a two-dimensional model of software security is proposed by Stochastic Petri Net in this paper. In this approach, the software security is modeled by graphical presentation ability of Petri nets, and the quantitative prediction is provided by the evaluation capability of Stochastic Petri Net and the computing power of Markov chain. Each...
متن کاملModeling and Performance Evaluation of Energy Consumption in S-MAC Protocol Using Generalized Stochastic Petri Nets
One of the features of wireless sensor networks is that the nodes in this network have limited power sources. Therefore, assessment of energy consumption in these networks is very important. What has been common practice has been the use of traditional simulators to evaluate the energy consumption of the nodes in these networks. Simulators often have problems such as fluctuating output values i...
متن کاملA rule-based evaluation of ladder logic diagram and timed petri nets for programmable logic controllers
This paper describes an evaluation through a case study by measuring a rule-based approach, which proposed for ladder logic diagrams and Petri nets. In the beginning, programmable logic controllers were widely designed by ladder logic diagrams. When complexity and functionality of manufacturing systems increases, developing their software is becoming more difficult. Thus, Petri nets as a high l...
متن کاملAnalytical solution of non-Markovian Stochastic Petri nets
This paper presents an analytical approach for the analysis of non-Markovian stochastic Petri nets. The primary aim of the presented solution method is its universal applicability. Therefore, an approach based on discrete phase type distributions has been chosen to perform the necessary Markovization. For the handling of the resulting state space explosion problem, symbolic storage structures, ...
متن کاملRecent Developments in Non-Markovian Stochastic Petri Nets
Analytical modeling plays a crucial role in the analysis and design of computer systems. Stochastic Petri Nets represent a powerful paradigm, widely used for such modeling in the context of dependability, performance and performability. Many structural and stochastic extensions have been proposed in recent years to increase their modeling power, or their capability to handle large systems. This...
متن کاملMapping CRC Card into Stochastic Petri Net for Analyzing and Evaluating Quality Parameter of Security (TECHNICAL NOTE)
CRC cards are unconventional method for identifying and describing classes, behavior and its responsibilities and collaborators of class. Representation of three categories of class, responsibilities and collaborators can give proper image of scenario. These cards are effective method for analyzing scenarios. With all positive features of CRC cards, of weaknesses of these cards are failure to s...
